17 Years Apart

On a trip to Paris in 1993 I shot the first image below from the roof of the Arc de Triumph of Sacre Coeur as a hole in the clouds let a shaft of light shine down on just the church. It was a unique little moment and I feel lucky to have been in the right place at the right time to capture it. I haven’t been up to the roof of the Arc since then, until I went last week. Well, it almost happened again. The clouds broke up at the last minute and it ended up shining down on part of the hill this time but it was close. Either I’m pretty lucky or maybe that just happens everyday.
